Directorate of Research & Postgraduate Studies

Welcome to the School of Research and Post Graduate Studies (SRPS). Uganda Christian University established the SRPS in 2006 with the aim of offering quality research and graduate academic services. SRPS oversees research and postgraduate studies at UCU. When SRPS was inaugurated, it consisted of a single department and UCU had four postgraduate programmes. It has since expanded to three departments; Research, Grants and Publications, Graduate unit and Oil and Gas.  In 2016, SRPS established a think tank, the Africa Policy Centre and in 2018, it received accreditation for the Research Ethics Committee. UCU now has 45 graduate programmes whose focus is to meet the local and international market demand.  Most are modular, blended programmes catering to the busy working individuals interested in upgrading their knowledge and skills.  SRPS has eight (8) full time staff  and two support staff members spearheaded by the Dean, Associate Prof. Kukunda Elizabeth Bacwayo, (PhD).

Our  vision is to be “A centre for quality Christ-centred graduate training and knowledge generation in Africa” and our mission is “To train and develop Christ-Centred globally competent scholars and professionals”.

The Heads of Departments are;

1. Associate Professor Peter Ubomba-Jaswa, PhD – Head of Grants, Research & Publications Unit
2. Joseph Owor – Head of Graduate Studies Unit
3. Emily Marachto – Director, Africa Policy Centre (APC)
