In addition to overall university requirements, applicants for this Programme must be in possession of a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree from an institution recognized by the Ugandan National Council for Higher Education.

This Programme is tailored for individuals who are currently teaching and those who intend to teach in higher educational institutions such as licensed and chartered public and private universities, colleges, Health and training institutions, without any professional training as instructors. The curriculum supports academics that wish to consolidate, develop, and enrich their own practice as part of their professional development.
Content includes: theory and practice of teaching and learning in higher education, assessment and evaluation in higher education, teaching and classroom management, developing higher education curricular, health and safety management in higher education and communication for teaching and learning, among others.
This diploma Programme was created to enable current or aspiring leaders interested in developing their leadership ability to advance their higher education skills and knowledge and effectively influence change while supporting growth in student learning. Those who have completed the Graduate Diploma in Higher Education will have demonstrated competency across a variety of essential leadership components.
