Easter/January Intake – Modular at Main/Mukono campus

In addition to regular UCU requirements for all students, the following are required:
• An honours degree in Education (BED) or (BAED/BSc. ED);

• An honours BA/BSc degree with a Diploma in Education; • An honours BA/BSc degree with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).

Two years, with a maximum of four years to complete

The Master of Education in Planning and Administration aims to prepare students to face the challenging world by producing competent teachers, education managers, lecturers and administrators to carry out various activities that support education and the development of Uganda. This Programme is intended for: current and prospective educational managers/administrators in educational institutions and departments of education at both district and national levels, professional teachers who wish to become lecturers in universities and other tertiary institutions.

Topics within course contents include: theories & principles of education administration, student welfare management & administration, academic affairs management & admin-istration, effective teaching
& learning in educational Institutions, financial management, and organizational & administration of educational institutions, among others.

Graduates of the Master of Education in Planning & Administration may pursue a teaching or research career.
