Half of Uganda’s population is under age 15. Globally and in East Africa, child abuse and neglect are growing concerns. The Bachelor of Child Development and Children’s Ministry Programme equips students with the fundamentals of child development to counsel children and promote social protection and transformation of communities.
In addition to such foundational coursework, topics in the coursework within this Programme include, among others: Biblical theology of children, discipleship, special needs children, counseling, early childhood intervention and community development.
This Programme prepares students for careers working with young children and their families. Students attain the skills to teach or direct child development Programmes, work as child development workers, probation and social welfare officers, developmental therapists, or in other areas of the early care and education field of children.
