• First or second-class degree in English/ Literature from a recognized university
Two years
Through a combination of lectures, discussions and individual research, the Master of Arts in Literature is designed to enhance student ability to interpret and analyze cultural, ethical, social and political issues through various types of literature.
The eight courses over three modules are on the topics of research, methodology, oral literature, literary criticism, and American, Ugandan, English, Epic and Bible literature.
Uganda secondary school teachers in the area of English Language and Literature are in demand internationally, including in Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. The degree elevates the graduate’s competitive value for academic and research employment especially in relationship to inter-cultural issues, interpretation and analysis with opportunities in teaching, research, creative writing and performing arts.
