Uganda Christian University (UCU) values international partnerships that broaden academic and
cultural horizons. The student exchange programme with Vechta University in Germany provides an
opportunity for students to gain international exposure, strengthen academic learning, and foster
cross-cultural understanding. To ensure transparency and fairness in the selection of participants,
this document outlines the criteria and procedures for student selection at UCU.

UCU-Vechta Partnership Objectives

• To establish clear and consistent guidelines for selecting students to participate in the UCU–Vechta University exchange program.
• To ensure that selected students represent the highest academic, moral, and cultural standards of UCU.
•  To promote equal opportunity, fairness, and gender balance in the selection process.
•  To prepare students who will contribute positively to Vechta University during their stay and to UCU upon return.

Eligibility

Academic Requirements
● Must be a full-time and fully registered student of UCU.
● Minimum cumulative GPA of 4.4.
● Preference will be given to undergraduate students in their second or third year of study
for those pursuing Law, Engineering, or Medicine), and to master’s students where
applicable.
● Field of study must align with the collaborative areas of UCU and Vechta University.

Language Proficiency

1. Strong command of English in reading, writing, and speaking.
2. Basic German knowledge is an added advantage but not a mandatory requirement
