Uganda Christian University (UCU) is receiving applications for prospective undergraduate students. The application portal is open and accessible at https://application.ucu.ac.ug/

Speaking in an official communication to prospective students and parents, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Rev. Prof. John Kitayimbwa (PhD), congratulated candidates on their achievement and outlined key application deadlines:

  1. The School of Medicine and School of Dentistry will receive applications until 20 March 2026, with pre-entry examinations on 23 March.
  2. The School of Law closes admissions on 27 March 2026, with pre-entry examinations set for 30 March.
  3. All remaining schools and faculties will accept applications through 10 April 2026.
  4. Students admitted for the Trinity Semester 2026 are expected to begin studies on 20 April, 2026.

We encourage early applications, as several programmes operate a single annual intake.

Application fees for International applicants USD50.

Intakes

Advent/September, Easter/January, Trinity/May Intakes – Full-time Day and Evening Main/Mukono, Evening at Kampala campus, Full-time Day and Weekend at Arua campus, Full-time Day at Bishop Barham University College, and Full- time Day at Mbale Constituent College campuses

Minumum Requirements

In addition to the other University admission requirements for undergraduate Programmes, one of the following categories will allow admission to this course: Direct Bachelor degree applicants • Two A Level Principal Passes, with at least one in either economics or entrepreneurship. Diploma applicants • One A’level Principal Pass; • Mature Age Exam; • All applicants are required to complete a departmental interview.

Program Length

Three years with maximum of five years to complete

Courses

Through lectures, discussion and projects requiring critical thinking, foundational, and content-specific knowledge are delivered in courses. In addition to foundational courses, courses include topics in: psychology, anthropology, sociology, social work, economics, rural development issues, nonprofit organizations, work with elderly and terminally ill, child and family social work and project planning, among others.

Career Prospects

Graduates are qualified for positions that include probation officer, social welfare officer, medical and clinical social worker, child protection officer, career advisor, charity officer, counselor, social activist and youth and adult guidance workers.
