Uganda Christian University

University Archive

The Uganda Christian University (UCU) Archives serve as the heart of our institution’s historical memory, safeguarding a rich collection of documents, photographs, and artefacts that chronicle UCU’s journey since its founding in the early 1900s and later transition into a contemporary university offering mainstream academic disciplines in 1997. From early administrative records of the Province of the Church of Uganda, UCU’s founding institution, to snapshots of early student life and milestone event memorabilia, the archives offer invaluable insights into our growth as a centre of authentic Christian higher education in East Africa. Whether you’re a researcher exploring Uganda’s academic history, an alumnus reliving cherished moments, or a prospective student inspired by our heritage, the UCU Archives provide a gateway to understanding the values, challenges, and triumphs that define our vibrant community. Visit us to uncover stories of faith, academic excellence, and service that continue to shape the future.

The archives are located in the lush green Main Campus of Uganda Christian University, Mukono and are headed by Mrs. Christine Byaruhanga.
