The program covers courses of journalism, radio and television news production, photojournalism, reporting and writing news, public speaking and presentation, graphics design, multimedia production, journalism ethics, media regulation, media advertising and marketing, public relations, investigative reporting, media and development among others.
In order to maintain the UCU philosophy of a complete education for a complete person, the students will study foundation courses that cover areas of Basic computing, Bible knowledge (Understanding the Old Testament and the New Testament), Writing & Study Skills and Understanding Ethics from a Christian Perspective. While the students study foundation courses as discrete courses, lecturers are also encouraged to integrate faith in learning.
To complete the course, students are required to do one practical project in radio news production, an internship and a research proposal.

The Diploma in Journalism and Multimedia Production and Multimedia Production is a two-year full time day programme, with a total of four semesters of study.
To be admitted to the Diploma in Journalism and Multimedia Production and Multimedia Production, one should have; Either At least a UACE certificate, with a one Principal Pass and one Subsidiary. Career prospects upon completing this degree can be found in the public and private sector in mainstream media, online media, international organizations, government ministries, departments and agencies. Positions include reporter, editor, photographer, communications assistant, public relations officer, and teacher.
