Advent/September Intake – Modular at Main/Mukono campus, and Trinity/May Intake – Modular at Kampala campus

In addition to the other University admission requirements for undergraduate Programmes, one of the following categories will allow admission to this course:
• Applicants for this Programme have successfully completed an honors bachelor degree from any recognized Institution (University) of higher learning with second class and above or its equivalent from a recognized University;
• Applicants with lower qualifi cations must satisfy the Senate that they have academic growth by evidence of research and peer reviewed publications.

Two years

The Master of Public Administration and Management Programme is looking at skilling/training individuals to a career with the government, public service, corporations, civil society organizations, nongovernmental organizations and private sector organizations. The Programme is designed to accommodate a working professional’s schedule. Students can select either a dissertation or extra module with a research project in the final year.

With options for either private or public sector management pathways in year two and requirement of qualitative and quantitative methodology for all, some topical content in this Programme is: Public-private partnerships, Management Information Systems, public management ethics, administrative law and processes, public policy formulation and management, marketing, public relations and management of human resources, procurement and leadership of non-profit organizations, among others.

The Masters of Public Administration and Management prepares highly professional administrators and managers for the public and private sectors, civil society and nonprofi t sectors; and other inter-state organizations. Graduates can pursue careers with a wide scope of employers including public service sector, local governments, central government ministries, security forces, public corporations, and intergovernmental bodies at regional and international levels, private sector investments, civil society organizations of NGOs, and many more.
