Mr. Godfrey Sempungu

He is a Lecturer and Associate Dean, Faculty of Business and Administration and MBA Program Coordinator at UCU. Sempungu is also a PhD candidate in Business Administration and he holds a Master of Business Administration - Marketing Major (Makerere University), Master of Philosophy in Education (NLA University College- Bergen, Norway), Bachelor of Arts in Education (UCU), a concurrent Diploma in Education (Economics and Geography) (UCU), Doing business in Europe - Marketing (Hanze University of Applied Sciences - Groningen, Netherlands) and an ICDL certificate. His research interests are in Complexity Sciences, Digital Marketing (Social Media, Content, Email Marketing etc). He is also an Independent Marketing consultant with SJG Consults.

He serves in other administrative responsibilities at UCU, including as chair, Marketing and Communications Committee; acting chair, UCU eLearning committee; chair, Faculty of Business Graduate Programs Committee; and member, Graduate Programs Development and Admissions Committee. He is also chair, Nezikookolima Investment Club and chair, Board of Directors, Nezikokoolima Junior School. As an MBA coordinator at UCU, he started the MBA program at UCU Kampala Campus in 2015 and Main Campus in 2016. He also designed the MBA curriculum and revised the Executive MBA curriculum (2016.) As Chair, Communications and Marketing Committee, he led a team that designed UCU's first Communications and Marketing Strategy 2016-2020 and reviewed the UCU Communications and Marketing Policy 2016-2021 while as Chair, eLearning Committee, he led a team which designed UCU's first eLearning Strategy (2017-2019). He was also part of the team that developed the first UCU's School of Research and Post Graduate Studies SRPG's strategic plan-2016. He has also supervised dozens of MBA and BBA students at Uganda Christian University and at Uganda Martyrs University.

Some of the papers he has presented in international conferences include;-
i. Patrick Tusiime and Godfrey Sempungu: Social media advertisement: an examination of Facebook's influence on consumer purchase decision of telecommunication products.
ii. Oshemeire Fortunate and Godfrey Sempungu: Online advertising and consumer's attitude; a focus on e-mail advertisement

Sempungu is presently conducting his doctoral research and he has published with Lambert a book titled Sharing the Burden: Prizes & Costs of Joint Education Provision in Uganda.
