It was another happy moment on Thursday April 12, 2018 when Uganda Christian University (UCU) beat Bugema University 3:1 in the on-going University Football League.
The game kicked off at exactly 3:00 pm with dominance from the UCU team led by Joshua Kigozi the team captain.
Bugema University fans stormed the University premises by 1:30 pm. They were ready to support till the last minute. Each one of them owned a Vuvuzela. It gave them confidence in the first minutes of the game.
To their credit, they did not lose hope even when the goals counted 3:1 in favour of the host team, UCU.
Jerome Ssemambo scored 2 goals while Ezra Kaye Kizito scored the third goal for UCU.
“I am so glad that we are shining more than people’s expectations,” said Joshua Kigozi.
He thanked all players for the commitment and hard work exhibited during the game.
Despite the win, Kigozi was not entirely happy, “We missed so many chances, our attacking force was good, but we failed to finish well,” he said.
Cornelius Engwenyu, the UCU Sports Coordinator was super excited about the win. “UCU will keep shining if they keep playing such kind of attacking game. They attacked till the last minute, all the glory returns to God,” he said.
The UFL is still going on, the UCU players are now getting ready to battle with Kumi.
