A total of 13 university students from Trinity International University in USA have visited Uganda Christian University on a Global Education Trip.
While meeting the UCU’s Vice Chancellor Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi in Principals Hall, the students expressed gratitude for the beauty and serene environment at UCU.
Dr. Senyonyi explained to them the genesis of the university and interacted freely on the successes and challenges the university faces. Among the successes, he told the students about the different campuses and where they are located.
In addition to that, Dr. Senyonyi applauded, the UCU graduates who are excelling and continue to raise the name of UCU higher. “The Christian identity we have, we cherish it so dearly and as a university, we speak about Christ freely,” Dr. Senyonyi said.
“There are a lot of exciting things happening at UCU and among them is the think tank that is aiming at contributing to the policy formulation in this nation.
More to that, there is no other university in Uganda that has championed the integration of faith into learning like UCU has. If it was not for our faith and commitment to excellence, our graduates would not be as marketable as they are today”. Dr. Senyonyi said.
The team leader (of Ugandan origin) from Trinity International University, Ms. Amanda Onapito, applauded UCU for her academic excellence. “It is good that we have come to the best academic institution like UCU where Christianity and academics are incorporated.” Amanda said.
The students, who are in Uganda for the Global Education trip, will also visit Mbale and other places to get different cultural experiences and engage in Christian community outreaches.
