Handle tasks for purchasing, and installing equipments

Develop computer based business programs

Apply ICTs to business functional areas of marketing, Accounting , Procurement, Strategy formulation, Finance, Research etc

Advise business firms on computing services

Ideal Graduate

Character

A graduate should be morally upright with a high level of integrity in their daily lives.

He or she should be self-motivated because of their experience as students of UCU.

He or she should have goals and posses the zeal to achieve those goals.

Ability

A Graduate should be able to translate theoretical principles learnt into practical solutions at his or her work place.

A graduate should have developed interpersonal skills as a result of interacting with fellow students in their discussion groups.

He or she should have developed good research skills, presentation and proper data analysis skills.

Knowledge

The graduate should have gained a good understanding of modern management practices.

Graduate should be able to design, build and evaluate decision support computer based application systems.

Use system analysis and design methodologies to model business processes.

Describe how ICTs can be used to support different levels of strategy used in the business.

He or she should be critical thinkers with the ability to analyze ideas.

Skills

The graduate should have gained good information technology skills.

He or she should have good problem solving skills with minimum supervision.

He or she should have gained good writing and presentation skills.

He or she should posse’s good communication skills.

He or she should have gained good research and analytical skills.

He or she should have gained good leadership skills.

Use various positioning frameworks to analyze an organization’s dependence on ICTS.

Design and develop systems.

He or she should have gained good negotiating skills.

He or she should have good presentation skills.

Behaviour

The graduate should be accustomed to following the rules, guidelines and code of conduct of all institutions that the graduate belongs to in implementing their duties.

He or she should have gained the ability to scan the environment and learn to suit in it.

Entry requirements

2 Principal passes at ‘A’ level with at least a principal pass in either Economics,         Entrepreneurship, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Biology. 

Applicants should possess at least a second class (lower division) diploma from a recognized institution in any discipline or its equivalent.

Mature age entry

Research requirements

Students write a research project and develop a working prototype. They are then examined by a panel of examiners 

Internship/Experiential Learning

Second year students do internship for 8 weeks.  Internship, presentations and report writing will count as a 3 unit credit
