As Christians, we are called to serve God and our neighbours. As a department, this means that we place our skills and talents at the disposal of the Church and the wider community.

We aim to help people communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively. In particular, we want to provide Christians with the means to communicate the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and His love for us.

Ugandan Languages

We have access to experts in many of the Ugandan languages, and can organise individual instruction or design courses for groups. We are currently working on formal courses. Please contact us if you are interested.

Professional and Technical Writing

The Department offers expertise in Professional and Technical writing. We can design and deliver courses in professional communication for all levels of staff. We can also design specialised courses in such areas as technical writing or writing for Non-Governmental Organisations.

Writing Workshops

We have experience offering specialised workshops in fiction, non-fiction and professional writing. We frequently have visiting writers who co-ordinate such workshops.

Teacher In-Service Training

We are dedicated to helping teachers improve both their methods and their knowledge of subject matter.

Workshops for University Instructors

The department serves as a focal point for academic staff development across all UCU campuses. We are especially interested in Tertiary education methodology and in writing across the curriculum.
