Welcome to Uganda Christian University!

Uganda Christian University represents a new breed of universities springing up around the world, particularly in the Global South.

Like some sister institutions in the United States, Uganda Christian University is a private, church-founded university that offers a full range of courses - from Theology to Information Technology. We even have a Law Faculty at Uganda Christian University, one of two recognized in the country.

Uganda Christian University's motto is "God the First and the Last." We are not ashamed to confess Jesus Christ as Lord. Not all students here are practicing Christians, but we do seek to communicate the Christian worldview in study, in fellowship and in worship.

We also describe ourselves as "A Centre of Excellence in the Heart of Africa." The University is seeking to offer high-level instruction, with qualified teachers, modest-sized classes, and good facilities.

This is not easy to do anywhere especially in the "heart of Africa." That is our goal and we trust we are moving toward it "slowly-slowly" until we gain a reputation for excellence.
