Dear Alums, Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I choose to call you "Alums," short for alumni, a Latin word suggesting the foster children of a "dear mother" institution. Somehow this sounds more noble than "old boy" and "old girl" of British tradition. Many of you are hardly old yet! However, call yourselves what you will, you are honoured graduates of Bishop Tucker Theological College and Uganda Christian University. I want to urge you to participate in the Alumni Association. It is an important part of any University. You even have a seat on the University Council and a voice in our affairs. The Uganda Christian University Alumni Association is an association of members who have undergone training through the Former Bishop Tucker Theological College Mukono its constituent and affiliate colleges; and the present day Uganda Christian University and its affiliate and Constituent Colleges. The present and past members of the academic staff are also members by association. |

The original idea of the Alumni Association was conceived in the mid 1990's. In fact, it was launched in 1996 but did not take off thereafter until when it was revived by a group of finalist students' Guild Government in 2001. |
